Featured Hatha Teacher
Dianne (Rashmi) Galliano
1984 in upstate NY, Dianne's first exposure to yoga was through Raquel Welch's Yoga video tape. From that point forward, she has been practicing yoga. Before becoming a yoga teacher, from 1995 thru 2005, Dianne co-owned a bar and music venue (Luna Lounge) on the Lower East Side in Manhattan and played bass guitar in a few bands. Closing the doors after 10 years of business, the following day, Dianne certified as a Prana Yoga teacher with Jeff Migdow, M.D. through the Open Center in NYC. One month after her primary certification, she found herself in Virginia at the IYI Ashram in Yogaville, studying and receiving her first IYI certification in Gentle Yoga. She began teaching a gentle yoga class at IYI in NYC in May 2006. She also had certified in Vinyasa Yoga with Stacey Keach in Asheville, North Carolina; Prenatal with Suzanne Cardinal, "Into this World" Yoga; Reiki levels 1 and 2 with Tom Capshew; Yoga Anatomy with Leslie Kaminoff at The Breathing Project, NYC; and she is a "Relax and Renew" trainer certified through Judith Lasater.Dianne has also completed IYI's Intermediate and Advanced Hatha Teacher Training programs and has been invited to join the Integral Yoga Teacher Training staff. She believes that "anything" one desires along with trust, pure intentions and selfless service, the power of the universe will deliver.
Through Dianne's personal practice's and the inspiration of her teachers, her class's invigorate and invite the students to observe and draw awareness to vital energy (prana) that flows thru the physical, the mental and the subtle bodies, encouraging stirra sukham: a steady and stable, easeful and spatial harmonious yoga journey. Dianne extends her gratitude to Swami Ramananda, Kali, Taravati, Chandra and the entire IYI staff and IYI students for their continuous support and grace.
