I am an active IYINY teacher. How do I receive my discount?Please register by phone or walk-in to register to receive a discount. If you teach at the Institute or Uptown Center at least twice a month, you are considered an “active” IYI Hatha Yoga teacher.

What subways, buses run near you?Subway: 8th Avenue is serviced by the A, C, E, and L lines; 7th Avenue by the 1, 2, 3, and 9 lines; 6th Avenue by the F and V lines and PATH trains.
Buses: the M14 bus, running on 14th Street, and the M10, on 7th Avenue or 8th Avenue, also have stops nearby.
Daily Hatha Classes
How long are classes?Most classes are 1-hour and 30-minutes. Exceptions are:
Morning Hatha • 1-hour
Lunchtime Hatha • 45-minutes
Hatha III • 1-hour and 45-minutes
Basic Teacher Training
What are the requirements for certification?Attendance of all classes; passing of comprehensive written and practical exams; attendance and evaluation of designated Integral Yoga Institute (IYI) classes; mentorship with an active IYI teacher; tuition paid in full.
Daily Hatha Classes
I’m not flexible. I haven’t exercised in years. Will I be okay? Are the classes hard?It is not necessary to be flexible to practice Hatha Yoga at Integral Yoga. If you have not been physically active we suggest you start with Gentle Yoga or Hatha I.
Our instructors are happy to suggest what class might be specifically appropriate for you if you ask them to observe your practice while taking a class. The Integral Yoga style of Hatha Yoga encourages students to work within their capacity and to use the benefits of the physical practice to support not only the health of the body but of the mind and spirit.

What is application process?After submitting an application, deposit and a brief bio, an applicant is contacted for a personal interview.
Daily Hatha Classes
Can I bring my child to a class?Children between 10 and 12 years of age, when accompanied by an adult, may take a daily Hatha class.
Basic Teacher Training
How much time is spent in class practicing asanas?Sixty-five percent of the time is spent studying and practicing asanas. The remaining time is given to anatomy and yoga philosophy.

Are there any requirements for admission?Yes, six months of regular yoga practice, preferably Integral Hatha style.
