Sunday, January 22 · 12:30-2:30 p.m.
Weekly/active teachers: Free
Non-active teachers: $10
CYT is currently offered in medical, educational, correctional, business, retreat programs, and private practice throughout the greater NYC area and in North Carolina, Iowa, Illinois, California and Oregon. A key to CYT's effectiveness is the exceptionally accessible, practical integration of traditional Raja Yoga, IYI formatting, and the intrinsic clinical, educational and societal need for PLAY. Our workshop begins with reflections from Priya Ma's 20+ years of adapting IYI's format for multi-cultural, multi-challenged populations and their caregivers. Special considerations and challenges for sharing Yoga with those who are resistant to learning or who are living with multiple life challenges will be addressed. We'll conclude with a sample CYT-style class and information on CYT training opportunities.
Creative Yoga Therapy (CYT) Winter Intensive Program
Nina Priya Ma David (Priya Ma) has created healing-arts programs for medical, educational, spiritual, and community organizations for more than 25 years. She teaches at the Integral Yoga Institutes in New York City and California and at Satchidananda Ashram in Virginia, presents talks at conferences, and offers teacher and caregiver training throughout the United States. Priya Ma originally founded Creative Yoga Therapy to address the needs of those who are not especially responsive to traditional approaches to learning. Her goal is to train CYT facilitators who actively serve and train others to serve their own communities in every state in the United States and wherever there is need.
