The Work Exchange program provides opportunities for students to contribute to the Integral Yoga Institute through service. Program participants volunteer their time and talents: cooking in the IYI kitchen, keeping the Institute clean, assisting in the offices. In exchange for passes to take Hatha classes and most workshops. Participants also enjoy the opportunity to become part of the larger IYI community, working side-by-side with staff, teachers and other volunteers.
"I have been involved with the work exchange program at IYI since 1995. Although I cannot keep up a regular service schedule, whenever I have time in my life, I spend some time cleaning the ashram kitchen after lunch. Included in the afternoon of cleaning is that I also get to enjoy a deliciously cooked meal and reconnect with my friends in the IYI community. Since I have been taking yoga classes at Integral since 1990, coming to the Institute feels like coming home. The community at IYI has given me so much. Doing a little service at the ashram feels like I am keeping myself in balance by giving back. "
