Classical Foundations of Tantra
Introduction and Exploration
Nina Priya David
Monday, Feb. 2 • 6–8 p.m.
$30
The teachings of Swami Satchidananda draw on the four main aspets of tantra: yantra (tool or symbol); mantra (word with special power); diiksa (initiation); and guru (remover of darkness). While many people associate tantra with sex, the literal translation of the word tantra is “weave,” which denotes continuity. You can also interpret it as “liberation from crudeness or dullness.” Come explore what it means to pursue the entire experience of living in the world as the practice of harmony with the spirit of unity in diversity. Opening your mind to these ancient and beautiful teachings will help you to open your heart and keep it open.
