Guru Poornima Celebration
A Special Satsang

Swami Ramananda

Saturday, July 19 • 5:45–7:15 p.m.

By donation

Once a year, during the full moon in July, great spiritual beings who have brought wisdom, healing, love, and light to the world are honored and celebrated. Buddha, Jesus, Moses, Krishna, and others have been great “gurus.” This evening’s Satsang will celebrate the life of all great gurus, ancient and modern. The life and teachings of Sri Swami Satchidananda, founder of Integral Yoga, will be our focus, but we invite you to bring a picture of your guru to place on the altar. An ecumenical service and a puja (worship service) in honor of the guru will culminate in offerings of music and dance. The evening will end with prasad (food that has been blessed during the worship service).

Swami Ramananda is the president of the New York IYI and a greatly respected senior teacher who has been practicing Yoga for over 30 years. His devoted study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and his programs on integrating Yoga into daily life, stress management, and working with the emotions have been appreciated around the country.
