Kirtan is chanting. Through the chanting of Divine sounds, names, and mantras, the heart is opened and the body and mind purified. By repeating these sounds with care and concentration, the spiritual seeker calls out from the soul to God for protection and guidance. Chanting done in this devotional attitude lifts the emotions toward selfless, Divine love. Each Friday night, longtime Kirtan leaders draw the community together for the chance to experience this beautiful practice. IYI is proud to host other special Kirtan events from time to time.
