SPECIAL GUEST PROGRAM

Kirtan with Sruti Ram and Ishwari
Chants for the Family of Humanity

Friday, July 25 • 7:30 p.m.

$10 donation

The unique harmonies of Sruti Ram and Ishwari, together with their backup musicians, carry the audience on a musical journey to India in the ancient tradition of Bhakti (devotional) Yoga and awaken the spirit of devotional chanting in their listeners. When asked of their experience in chanting together, Sruti Ram states, “Together we evoke a feeling of bliss that allows us and Kirtan devotees to transcend any separations and remind us that we are all Divine expressions and yet members of the same human family.”

Sruti Ram began his communion with the Divine as a choirboy in the Bronx. His Kirtan practice was a natural progression; he has led at it at his home in Woodstock, New York, and worldwide for three decades. A devotee of Neem Karoli Baba, Sruti Ram was pujari and taught meditation with Ram Dass for 30 years.
Ishwari is a singer, musician, painter, and Interfaith minister. Her practice as a bhakti is listening to Divine guidance and chanting the Divine names. Her sat guru is Babaji, and she considers herself an employee of Neem Karoli Baba.
