Study Group on the Dhammapada
Buddhist Teachings and Philosophy

Swami Chidananda

Tuesday, September 2 • 6–7:30 p.m.

$8 per session

Let us examine together this early Buddhist Scripture, which poetically distills the essence of Lord Buddha’s teachings. The Dhammapada is one of the most beloved and remembered of Buddhist texts. Through these teachings one can learn to control the mind and, therefore, thoughts and actions, to achieve greater peace and happiness. We will examine Lord Buddha’s life, background, and teachings and compare this Scripture to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, which were written in the same era and outline similar ideas on the nature of the mind.

Swami Chidananda is a longtime disciple of Swami Satchidananda and has managed the organization’s finances for decades.
