An Experiential Hand Drum Workshop

One power of the drum lies in its unifying principle, its capacity to attune the body, mind, and spirit to something greater than the sum of any individual’s parts. That alone is a healing experience—when one becomes part of the whole, internally and externally, and belongs to the momentum of rhythm. In this workshop, John will teach hand drumming techniques, specific rhythms, vocal percussion, and long, cohesive drum calls from various world traditions. He will also give a drumming demonstration on different hand drums from around the world. Please bring a drum if you have one; frame drums will be available. John creates a safe, fun, noncompetitive environment where no prior musical experience is necessary.
