Yoga for Veterans
8-Week Open Series

Anuradha Bhagwati

Thursdays, Jan. 8–Feb. 26 • 7–8:30 p.m.

$5 per class

Regardless of branch or time of service, military veterans often walk away from their experiences with physical, emotional, or psychic trauma. Yoga can help alleviate stress and heal wounds by teaching how to quiet the mind and relax the body. In this series, we will explore basic poses to strengthen and balance the body, therapeutic poses to restore the body, guided deep relaxation and visualization techniques to heal injuries and trauma, breathing techniques to calm and invigorate the body, and meditation to focus and discipline the mind.

Anuradha Kristina Bhagwati is a former marine captain and the founder of IYI’s Yoga for Veterans program. She has training in both Hatha and therapeutic Yoga and is extra-sensitive to students living with injuries or trauma. Her past students include active-duty soldiers and youth living in war zones.
