If you suffer from high blood pressure—or from stress in general—you owe it to yourself to try the specific techniques found in Yoga that have been proven to reduce hypertension and simply make you feel better. A group setting is great for sharing and dealing with your own issues. You will practice meditation, deep relaxation, breath awareness, and guided imagery and learn to examine stress as it arises. Redirecting your thinking in positive ways, along with practicing these techniques, will help keep the body easeful and the mind peaceful through the ups and downs of daily life.

Padmini Dolores Ramos holds a master's degree in counseling and has extensive training in stress reduction. She studied at the Harvard Mind Medical Division under Herbert Benson, M.D., and with Alice D. Domar, Ph.D., at Boston IVF, using a mind/body approach to stress reduction and body healing. She is a certified Integral Yoga instructor.
